Proposal Number: FS AY 2011-2012-2: This proposal requests the creation of a new course for the College’s Medical Laboratory Technician Program. MLT 110 “Introduction to the Clinical Laboratory” is a 1 credit course that would serve as an introductory course focused on the MLT program, eliminating the industrial component. This course would satisfy the recommendation of the accrediting agency to have a first-year introductory course in the MLT program. This course will replace CHE 110, Introduction to the Laboratory, in the MLT curriculum. In addition, CHE 110 Introduction to the Laboratory would remain in the Science/Math Division with revisions to remove the medical laboratory component. This would allow the Science/Math Division to offer this course in the future as needed.
