An advisor’s signature is no longer needed for major changes.
Students with no active program (which usually means the student has a previously submitted application that has a AP or WD status) will change their status by submitting a new application. Students who have a current active academic program will change their student status by using the new form:
- Students who want to change from Degree-Seeking to Non-Degree (or Transient, though that is uncommon) must complete this form. Records will confirm that the student understands the financial and academic implications of the change before changing their status. Students must also agree that they understand that they must complete the Permission to Transfer (for Transient students) or Non-Degree Registration Form to register for future semesters.
- Students who want to change from Non-Degree or Transient to Degree-Seeking must complete this form. Before changing the student’s status, Records will check the student’s academic history to see if the student has placement test scores, transfer credit, or prior academic credits and will refer them to Enrollment Services to placement test or submit transcripts as necessary. Records will also check to see if they have a HS diploma or GED. If not, Records will advise them of their next steps appropriately.
