Dr. Waller and his faculty members reviewed once again the content of BIO 141, 142 (Mammalian Anatomy) and BIO 129 (Physiology) from Penn State upon the request of a student.
Each of these courses if completed successfully carries a 4 credit weight at Penn State, but are taught separately there. Many student only take a portion of these, which fulfills their biology requirements for Penn State, but are not considered either RACC BIO 250 or 255 when taken in this manner. Dr. Waller, Lynette Davis (faculty member) and Heather Schongar (faculty member) have come to this decision:
“If the student has successfully completed ALL 3 of these courses (BIO 141, 142 and 129), they can be receive credit for our (RACC’s) BIO 250 – Anatomy and Physiology I and BIO 255 – Anatomy and Physiology II. If they only take part of the PSU sequence, it would not really count as either.” In the case of the latter students will be awarded a Biology I and II elective for 4 credits each.
