Community Education ESL "retests"

We have a had a few students come to our office saying that they've "taken 50 hours in ESL and are ready to take courses". Here's what you should know about this process:

When students are referred to Zelda for Community Education, she may place them into Community Education ESL courses. In the begining of this course, the students all take a CASAS placement test (required by the grant funding sources). After roughly 50 hours in the ESL program, they may be offered the chance to retake the CASAS test. If they have improved on that test, they may have the opportunity to move up into Bridge courses. After completing their Bridge class(es), they will retest just like any other Bridge student, at which point we may see them for advising.
